Since we’re invested to make the most out of this Halloween season of haunted houses, we have to check out Howl-O-Scream (HoS) and see how well they compare to Howl-O-Scream Tampa.
People I’ve spoken with seem to think Halloween Horror Nights (HHN) is the Mecca of big park themed scare-fests. In many ways, it really is a great production and very worth the price tag. Let me assure you, the big names and big budgets sometimes are their own downfall.
This season, Boo and I have really enjoyed Howl-O-Scream, Tampa. We went to HHN first to capitalize on the cheaper tickets at the start of season. We were able to enjoy everything the park had to offer and we like it. The following is to be construed as strengths of HoS Tampa when compared to HHN and not necessarily the detriment of HHN. (I hope this makes sense.)
As a guest at HoS there is a tangible energy, somewhat bridled but only barely. These actors really want to be there. You can tell. These folks are very small, very tall, wide, and thin; these folks use their own voices, much of the time, to work with the guests. They’ll call out your hair, (my beard is noticeable and I think the same scare-actor noticed both times I went through his house!), your clothes, or invite a brief conversation in character.
I can only hope, this is the pre-game message for tonight the post game will surely bear fruit, HoS Orlando measures up to Tampa.
We’re so looking forward to a great night and will enjoy even further bringing you along with us!
